Sorry, Friday took forever to write about!
Anyways, the rest of the weekend was not quite as full, but almost. Not a dull moment.
Spent time Saturday morning at Goose Rocks Beach (where the grandparents lived) - walked the beach, hunted for sand dollars but didn't find any, trespassed in a yard that no longer belongs to me. Told the boy a million stories about growing up there, etc. It was nice.
Had lunch with Grampy, aunt, uncle, and uncle's girlfriend. It took them all about 10 minutes to start teasing the boy. I ate lobster stew and lobster roll and boy ate another steamed lobster (family gave him more pointers about how to eat a lobster... he still refused to wear the bib).
Went to the wedding, which was awesome. A hundred stories just about that. After the wedding, went to the pub in downtown K-port... missed the last trolley back to the hotel and had to have the bartender drive us home. That was entertaining.
Got up the next day, had breakfast with all of the wedding people in the banquet room, laughed at all of the rumors about why we weren't on the last trolley (honestly, we didn't intentionally miss it!), took our coffee intravenously... drove back to Massachusetts.
Stopped at Mr. Bob's house to return the car but he was out eating lunch. Joined him and stepbrother and watched them eat. Went to Kimball's so I could have my dairy farm ice cream fix, went to the mother's.
Mother, little brother, boy, and I drove into Somerville to big brother's. We all went to Chinatown, ate late lunch (I wanted dim sum but that ended at 3:00.. oh well.), went to a restaurant supply store to look at bathtub-sized woks, went to a candy store to marvel at candied olives, sesame-sprinkled baby crabs, and other delicious snacks. Went to Starbucks, walked the common and admired the monument to Civil War soldiers (about 3 stories tall) and the one to Civil War nurses (about knee height - its a rock, literally).
Back to big brother's, sat for a few minutes, went to the airport, flew. This time, I let boy have the window so he could sleep. I tried, but didn't. There is something about leather airplane seats - your butt slips, you can't lean your head on anything... just not a comfy experience.
Got back to my apartment in Denver at 1:00 AM, CRASHED.
There are more stories and thoughts to share about the weekend... but I have to get ready to teach now.
