Summer is the best thing that has ever happened in life, I've decided.
Not only because my apartment is getting cleaner than I've seen it in a year (what with my new vacuum cleaner Mr. Bob sent me and the steam cleaner I rented after the boy's debaucle... and all of the paperwork that is suddenly getting filed and organized), but also because I get to read whatever I want, whenever I want.
Love it.
A couple of quotes for you to mull over:
--life isn't happily ever after and golden sunsets and shit like that. It's work. The person you love is rarely worthy of how big your love is. Because no one is worthy of that and maybe no one deserves the burden of it either. You'll be let down. You'll be disappointed and have your trust broken and have a lot of real sucky days. You lose more than you win. You hate the person you love as much as you love him. But, shit, you'll roll up your sleeves and work--at everything--because that's what growing older is.
Happiness comes in moments, and then it's gone until the next time. Could be years. But sadness--sadness settles in.
Both from Mystic River. Good book if you've never read it. I've polished off that and plenty of other books... and am about to continue the quest of burning through my neverending pile.
Happy day!

Well, at least you have a neverending pile of books. Seems like I spend way too much money on books and I go through them way too fast. I've decided that I need to start visiting the library instead of buying each one. Haven't read Mystic River yet, but I saw the movie, will have to put it on the list.
