venting again, but just a little (I promise!)

First of all, it was some bimbo who owns the mustang. Don't know which apartment she came out of, but she was wearing a puffy vest and didn't even see the note. It was still stuck under her windshield wiper as she backed out of the driveway and peeled out in the nicely packed snow on our street. Doesn't even know how to drive in the snow and lives in Denver. Whatever.

More about snow.

It started snowing yesterday at lunchtime. It took me two hours to get home from school. I got home and I was locked out, which was my fault (partly) because I took the wrong set of keys yesterday morning, and the realtor showed the building today. Dumb lady (she left a business card, so I know it was a lady) locked my deadbolt. Luckily, there is a key box on our porch so I called the landlord and he was nice enough to give me the combination so I didn't have to wait for him to arrive and save the day...

...and it continued to snow until well after 8:00 this morning...

...and it took me an hour and a half to get to work.

WHY DIDN'T THEY CANCEL SCHOOL, I ASK?!!!? Absurd. It will take one school bus accident, one lawsuit for the dumb superintendent to realize that our lives might matter a little.

One of the 2nd grade teachers was out today. We had to split out her class because what substitute is going to show up in the middle of a snowstorm? (ok, the tail end of a snowstorm, but still.) So I had 8 extra students all day. Really, that wasn't such a big deal. Kids are kids, and what difference does a few more make? A lot, but only for a day so like I said, no big deal....

... except we found out 4 minutes before the morning bell rang. That was considerate.

Tomorrow we have a faculty meeting so some lady can show us a poster maker that will cost the school $10,000. All year long the principal has told us 'we have no $$$' and now this lady comes along and sells him a goddam POSTER MACHINE that nobody is going to use? Ok, so he is asking our opinion. That's why we have to sit through a 45 minute demonstration.

We have a staff development Thursday. Half of the building will be out Thursday and Friday for a literacy conference that I SHOULD be going to except a "friend" of mine fucked me over and I can't go. Report cards are due Monday. Conferences are next week.

I'm going out of town this weekend. (Can't go to the conference??? Going to Miami instead - take that!!)

I wonder if the Wednesday morning poster machine demonstration is well timed?

Oh, and my formal appraisal/observation is tomorrow morning at 9:30.

I am very annoyed by inconsiderate behavior this week. (I want to say inconsiderate people, but I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt. It's part of my effort to be positive and optimistic.)

And I apologize; that was more than just a little venting.
