It's been a while.

The health and/or pain issues are either resolved or bearable. Life with the boy is good. Right now he is making me dinner because I just got off an airplane.

My great aunt passed away over the weekend, so I flew to Boston yesterday morning and back to Denver today. It was the trip from hell, but I'm glad I went. She really was special to me, and it meant a lot to my mother to have me there. (or so she said.) I got roped into speaking at the funeral service and I shook like a leaf. I hate speaking in front of adults... always have, always will. And actually, I had to read a poem, not give a speech. Somehow that's worse because when you are speaking you can be conversational and engage the audience, but when reading aloud the whole time you are praying that you do the poem justice and don't stumble over anything and don't go too fast and don't drop because you forget to breathe (and don't look up and see your two deviant brothers and two deviant uncles in the front row smirking at you).

It's amazing how different it is to speak in front of adults. A few weeks ago I had to present at a staff meeting and the same stupid thing happened - except I also blushed, and it was my birthday and my friend Kyle interrupted my presentation just to make sure everyone knew - ane people who know me well (Kyle included) know how anti-birthday, anti-center-of-attention I am.

Whatever. 2 days left of school. Sucked to have to miss two days of the last week of school because now I get to spend the rest of the week catching up.
