Um... sorry, can't come up with a title!

So the trip to New England was uneventful. I spent a lot of time with my mother, which was fine. She's in a lot of pain and I spent most of my time cooking and making sure she was eating -her pain meds make her stomach screwy (which makes a person not want to eat) and common sense tells us that if one is taking morphine, one should eat. I also did quite a bit of housework, which was good practice because I should probably do more housework in my own apartment... One thing that was nice is we had my brothers and stepfather over Sunday and I cooked a big dinner. I never get to cook for all of them so I was pretty excited to be able to do that, and to spend time with all of them. Both brothers came and stayed with Mom for the weekend so we watched movies and just hung out. Mom and I also went to visit my uncle who was diagnosed with Gilliam Barr (a neurological condition) six weeks ago and so he's pretty debilitated. I cleaned his kitchen and made lunch, and I also made a loaf of cranberry bread at uncle's request. I don't think he's allowed to use the oven - he doesn't have a lot of muscle control in his arms right now.

Met up with a couple friends which is always wonderful and makes me wonder why I choose to live so far away (but once I get back to Denver I remember why!), and lost my ID on my way to the airport. That was great - I was walking down Boylston St. toward the T station when I heard something hit the ground. Turned around, and there was my credit card. Yikes. Felt in my back pocket (where the license and cc are kept) and no license. My bag must have bumped it and inched both very important cards up and out. Panicked, called big brother and said "I might have to stay with you" called the boy and said "you might have to overnight me my passport, if you can find it" (I did mention that I need to be more diligent about housework, didn't I?)... turned around and started walking. My license was on the ground, face down, about half a block back. How lucky am I?

Back in Denver to same old. Went out Friday night with the boy and met a girl who seems really cool. We actually went shopping together yesterday afternoon, which was refreshing because I have girlfriends here, but no one who I would ever just call and say "hey, wanna go shopping?" Of course I spent a bunch of money that should go toward other things, but I looked super cute last night when Cito and I went to a going away party for one of my Banana coworkers. That, by the way, was great. It's always fun to see work people out because you see a different side. The person who left is my manager who wrote the schedule, and he intentionally gave a bunch of us Saturday night off so that we could come to his party! (Hey, I would do it too.) In any case, most of my coworkers are gay men and they were in rare form. (Well, maybe it was normal for them but I don't usually see it.) They invited us to Boys Town (yes, a male strip club) - and we declined because both of us would go more out of curiosity and for the entertainment factor than to actually hang out with the boys. We decided that might not be so respectful, so we went home and watched TV instead.

Oh, and the best thing ever. The boy got his skipass this morning, to Copper Mountain!

For those of you who have been left unaware, for the past two years we've had different passes so we rarely get to ski/snowboard together... but he decided to do the switcharoo. I know that me having the pass was just one of many reasons, but either way I'm so excited that he caved.
