So the appointment felt like a waste of time, but the boot is gone. The orthopedic doctor looked at my foot, looked at my old x-ray, and pretty much said that everything was fine, I didn't need to be wearing the boot anymore. No restrictions (yay skiing!), it'll probably hurt for the next month or two because of the sprain... yada yada... oh, and I have an extra bone in my foot.
Yup.
I've always thought my feet were especially bony and gnarly, now I know it! The boy was sitting in the room with me and laughed out loud, because just before the doctor came in he said you have wierd looking feet and we had a whole little conversation about said topic. Silly.
I'm going to New England this week. Mother had another back surgery (this time a spinal fusion... yuck.) and she got home from rehab yesterday. The builder (her bf) goes out of town Thursday and it just makes more sense for me to go there than for her to have to hire a full time home health aide for a week. Let's hope she's better behaved this time.
Of course this means that my students get to mistreat yet another substitute. I have decided that this time I am going to put in a note in my sub plans about how horrifying they are, because they are so damn cute looking I think substitute teachers have no idea what they are in for! I don't know what it is about my classes... it seems like every year, I have the students who turn into Mr. Hyde's accomplices when somebody else steps in for a couple of days.
