Last weekend we took the ski train to Winter Park. Just had to be on board by 7:00 (which was difficult, but not impossible...) and then sleep for 2 hours as the train was winding its way through tunnels and canyons. I chose to stay awake for most of the ride because the views were gorgeous.
This is what we arrived to:
It was FREEZING! But there were a few inches of new powder and the skiing conditions were great. It was clear, sunny, and crunchy (the snow)... and look at the view from the top of the mountain:
Awesome.
Best part was we just got back on the train at 4:00 and this time I did opt to sleep for 2 hours. I even had the foresight to make a pot roast in the slow cooker so dinner was ready when we got home.
Everyone should live in Colorado.
