Time.

Summer is here. (Well, at least summer vacation from school) And I have to ask, what does one do with so many days off? Literally, I've been working seven days almost the entire school year (except for ski season when I spent every Sunday working on my form on the bumps... that's working too, right?)

So yesterday the boy showed me what one does all day. This is how it went:
7:30 - wake up. enjoy the novelty of each other's company and nowhere to go. :)
9:00 - go to the gym to work out. then grocery shopping.
11:30 - cook lunch, eat.
1:00 - take a nap.
3:00 - watch Jerry Springer and cheer Jerry on with the audience. At this point I got a little bored and started to bug the boy for attention and he said, "No, that's not how we do it! We watch TV and then shower and at around 4:30 start cooking because Lauren comes home around 5:00!" It was pretty funny, so I went along with it.
5:00 (ish) - shower, drive to the mall to get shoes for the wedding we are going to Sat. We bumped into friends who were going to a nearby restaurant, so we met them for drinks ... got home at around 10:00, went to bed.

Today is day 2... and now I understand why he is always so demanding of attention when I get home from school! I strayed from the norm and went out to run an errand at around 1:15, and now I'm writing all about the down side of "summers off"... at least for a person who is used to never having any time for herself. (Hey, maybe this is a good thing?) Oh, and I layed out for about 20 minutes to take the edge off the scary whiteness of my body. The pool opens next week, so maybe that will take away some of the monotony? And besides that, I have a really messy apartment - the kitchen got clean yesterday. I figure I'll have the whole place shining by June 12 when I fly to Boston.

Just so the boy can stay behind and mess it up again :) .. Actually, he is the more domesticated one. I cleaned out the refrigerator the other night (Sunday I think?) and he was completely floored. He must have opened and closed it fifteen times.
