Boot the boot!

Enough already!

So I have an appointment this Tuesday to talk with my doctor about "the boot." They told me 5-6 weeks and it will be 5 weeks Thursday... I think 4 wks, 5 days is plenty - especially taking into consideration that A-Basin is open.

It's amazing what a walking cast does to the rest of your body - I now understand why people with two different length legs need special shoes. My back, and my other hip and knee have taken a beating over the last month! I can't wait to be done with this.

Other than that, live is pretty uneventful. Things with the boy are the same (ever dramatic but usually fun), school is pushing along - I recently got 5 new students because they had to reduce 3rd grade by one classroom and that was a rough transition. It's amazing what happens when students see their teacher giving her attention to somebody else - they act like they've never been to school before! And what else... I'm getting the "princess shifts" at Banana because I can't stand on the boot for 8 hours on end - and even at the end of 4 hours I'm hobbling around in pain, but I need the extra money so I have to deal with it.

My pottery class is fun - and I've even talked with the owner of my coffee shop about putting some of my pieces out to sell. Nothing much to start - little sugar bowls and creamer pitchers, things like that. I'm pretty excited because I can make whatever I want (unlike at SU where I had assignments and earned a grade...) and my skills are improving because I've figured out a lot about form and am throwing with more consistency. AND I don't have to buy Christmas gifts for my family. Although my mother asked for a huge fucking pitcher for her kitchen... which means I have to make a few smaller pieces to attach together - easier said than done! But it's a skill I want to have, so better to learn now.
